Oregon Friendly Driver LEAD + Instructor

Whitney Bennett (she/her) is the Education Program Manager at Commute Options, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable transportation. She holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning with a focus on sustainable transportation systems and land use. With over 20 years of experience in transportation and land use planning, Whitney has spent the past five years specializing in transportation options, following 15 years in land use planning. Since 2020, she has served as the educator for the Safe Routes to School Program and the Oregon Friendly Driver Program. Outside of work you can find her biking around Bend with her son, seeking out river, yoga, or hiking adventures. Whitney oversees the statewide administration of the Oregon Friendly Driver Program through Commute Options’ contract with the Oregon Department of Transportation. 

Oregon Friendly Driver Communications + Instructor

Lucy Stout (she/her) is the Communications & Program Coordinator at the nonprofit Commute Options. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon, where she focussed on sustainable living solutions. Lucy regularly uses her bike or walks to commute around town and is passionate about educating drivers to share the roads respectfully. Lucy oversees communications at Commute Options, supports Oregon Friendly Driver, the Safe Routes to School program, and the Vanpool Program in Central Oregon. Lucy Stout (she/her) is the statewide Oregon Friendly Driver instructor. In her spare time find her biking, skiing and enjoying the nature Oregon has to offer.

Heidi Manlove works at the Oregon Department of Transportation in the Transportation Safety Office. She is the state’s Pedestrian, Bicycling Safety and Safe Routes to School Program Manager. She works with partners statewide to implement education and awareness programs focused on the safety of people walking and rolling. Heidi is very passionate about encouraging safe active transportation and empowering all road users to know their rights and responsibilities so everyone gets to where they are going safely.

Oregon Friendly Driver Partner + Instructor​

Drew Pfefferle is the Safe Lane Transportation Coalition Coordinator with Lane Council of Governments. Drew works with local agencies to implement traffic safety education programs through Lane County. He manages the Oregon Friendly Driver initiative in Lane County and frequently collaborates with partners to teach employees and community members about safely and legally sharing the road with everyone. Drew is the Lane County region Oregon Friendly Driver Instructor.

Oregon Friendly Driver PARTNER + Instructor

Citlaly Ramirez-Sierra (she/her/ella) is the Education and Engagement Coordinator of the Portland-based nonprofit The Street Trust. Citlaly has over two years of experience working with the Oregon Friendly Driver program, teaching defensive driving education in both English and Spanish to local businesses and non-profit organizations in the Portland Metro Region. Passionate about road safety, Citlaly is committed to reducing traffic fatalities and serious injuries by providing accessible education and resources to the community.

Oregon Friendly Driver PARTNER + Instructor​

Lindsay Huber (she/her) is the Deputy Director of the Portland-based nonprofit The Street Trust. Lindsay has a degree in Political Science from the University of California Davis and spent much of her career working in the transportation field. She has over seven years of experience working on active transportation programs including Oregon Friendly Driver and Safe Routes to School programs. Outside of work she enjoys attending concerts, watching films, and hanging out with her cats, Stella and Matilda. Lindsay supports the outreach and coordination of Oregon Friendly Driver in the Portland Metro region.
