We understand you might have questions about the Oregon Friendly Driver course. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide you with quick and helpful answers, covering everything from course details to benefits and enrollment.

General Questions:

Laws change and new infrastructure gets introduced all the time… there is a lot more going on on our roads compared to when you may have started driving, taken a driver education class, or taken the test to get your driver license. Also, understanding WHY vulnerable roadway users may be doing what they are doing is not something that is easily deduced from the vantage point of the person driving. The more we can understand the WHAT and the WHY the better you can be at anticipating things on our roadways and avoiding costly and traumatic crashes.

Potentially! Reach out to your insurance agent and ask them if this course qualifies for an insurance discount. If it does not.

You will receive your certificate of completion shortly after you finish the post test. For the online course and any post test completed via the google form test, you receive your certificate immediately as long as you have entered a valid email address that can receive emails with attachments.
Courses done in person on paper tests may take longer to get the certificate out, but no more than a week.

Yes, this course covers all of Oregon. The in person classes can be customized to common issues and infrastructure that is specific to the location where the class is being instructed. The online course covers all the different infrastructure and scenarios you could come across throughout the State, with both urban and rural Oregon represented.

Check out the E-bike safety course here developed by Commute Options: E-Bike Course. It is full of rules and safety tips for ebike riders. We also cover electric micro mobility (e-bikes, e-scooters, etc) in the Oregon Friendly Driver training.

Absolutely, bike riders, personal mobility device users, scooter riders, pedestrians, E-bike riders, you name it. Anyone that uses roadways would benefit from taking the course and learn how to use our streets safely.

Online Course questions

Yes, to resume the course where you left off simply log back into your account on the Reach360 platform using the same email and password you used to register. To make this easy, bookmark the course page.

Once you log on, you will see what courses you are In Progress on, select Oregon friendly Driver Course, then select Resume Course. This will take you to where you left off.

Yes, once you start the course you have 30 days to complete it. You will receive email reminders that will help keep you on track.

No, a post test score of 70% or higher is required to become a certified Oregon Friendly Driver.
